There was a time when whatever song Ashanti put her vocals on, it would turn into a platinum-selling hit record. These days, her songs are lucky to be certified copper, and it’s supposedly all Beyonce’s fault. Back in 2003 when Beyonce released her debut album Crazy in Love, the media put no rest to comparing the former Destiny’s Child lead singer to Murda Inc’s first lady. It wasn’t long before the two looked at each other as fierce competition on the charts, vowing that both were better than one another. It was long rumored that Ashanti had urged rappers not to work with Beyonce after the singer had shown an interest in working with the likes of Ja Rule, who Ashanti was very close to. Stopping Beyonce from working with Ja Rule may have worked, but as Ashanti continued putting out new albums over the course of years, each and every one sold less and less. By 2006, Ashanti was no longer seen as a rival to Beyonce who was outselling the ‘Rock Wit U’ singer by more than 250,000 copies with every new record.
2. Keri Hilson
After the success of her wildly popular 2009 hit ‘Turnin’ Me On’, Keri Hilson penned a remixed version in which she outrageously blasted Beyonce for being a mediocre artist. In the song, Hilson took unexpected shots at Bey, stating that the 34-year-old’s biggest tracks were penned by Keri, before adding that “Yonce needed to sit down as her career was beginning to fade”. The irony kicked in when Keri would go on to release her second album, No Boys Allowed the following year, debuting at number 11 on the charts, and failing to reach Interscope Records’ expectations. In 2014, it was rumored that Keri had officially been dropped from her label, months before she was spotted performing at an empty stadium to a crowd the size of a dinner hall.

3. Keyshia Cole
Keyshia Cole’s career went to the ‘Point of No Return’ following the shade she threw towards Destiny’s Child when they graced the stage at the 2013 Super Bowl. During Beyonce’s halftime show in New Orleans, the songstress invited her DC musical pals on-stage for a one-off medley performance. But certain people were less than impressed with the outcome of the show; Keyshia Cole, in particular. The 33-year-old was very vocal on how she felt about Beyonce’s halftime performance, joking that her band members couldn’t keep up with the routine, and therefore discredited the show as a whole. “I think I was frightened to blink for a sec. Then Michelle sung and woke my ass up from my daze! She always f-cking the groove up,” she Tweeted. Following the backlash that Cole received from her not-so-nice comments, the ‘I Should Have Cheated’ singer further added that Beyonce is “whack and always will be.” Since then, Keyshia Cole’s career has most certainly taken its toll. Her latest album Point of No Return, went on to sell a measly 45,000 copies in its first-week. And if that wasn’t enough, Cole went on to confirm that she was no longer signed to Interscope — the label she had first signed to back in 2005 — over “creative differences”. Keyshia is now an independent artist.
4. Ciara
Ciara had her goodies on lock back in 2004, but the same can’t be said of her career after a brief feud with Beyonce, which sent her music sales plummeting. Having been compared to Beyonce ever since she first stepped on the scene, CiCi seemed to have gotten carried away when asked what she made of the fact that her music videos are very similar to those from Beyonce. Ciara responded saying she finds the comparison ‘petty,’ going on to reveal how fashion that she made iconic had been worn by Beyonce afterward, yet she never made a fuss about it. “I did my first video with my metal outfit. I was inspired by Thierry Mugler. Now, from my understanding, Beyonce is using Thierry Mugler for her tour. It just is what it is. It’s very petty to me,” Ci told Honey magazine in 2009. Six years have past and it seems Ciara never managed to get back on her feet following her diss towards Bey. 2009 saw the release of the singer’s third album Fantasy Ride, and its sales were so low, KFC began giving out the record for free with every meal bought. A year later saw Ciara attempt to win back her fans with Basic Instinct, but still no luck. The album was a commercial flop which Ci went on to blame the record label for. Ciara’s latest self-titled album, released in 2013, opened with first-week sales of 60,000 copies, which is considerably less than her sophomore record The Evolution, which opened with sales of 338,000.
In March 2015, Ciara announced that she will release Jackie in May 2015 and that she planned on touring the U.S. later in the year. The album is titled after her mother
5. Joseline Hernandez
Love & Hip Hop star Joseline Hernandez embarrassed herself when she went on to call Beyonce a h** that needed to make room for the up-and-coming artist. Several video clips of Joseline in the recording studio heard the reality star throw some pretty heavy insults at Bey. The fact that a TV star has the nerve to downplay the success of someone like Beyonce is already bad enough, but then to dig deeper by discrediting her is rather shocking. After the outburst, the Bey-Hive began digging up information on Joseline, such as her countless arrests, her life as a teen stripper, abortions, affairs with other men, and her drug addictions. The info became relevant to Love & Hip Hop producers who were alarmed by Joseline’s odd behavior on the program during season 3, when Hernandez punched a cast-mate in the face and bit off the flesh off a security guard. Former plans that saw Joseline land her own reality show on VH1 have since been canceled, while the 28-year-old is also believed to have taken a pay cut from the program, and is currently held up in a lawsuit for her infamous reunion brawl that left cast members battered and bruised.
